My 5 Favorite Motivational Quotes.

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of work on Pinterest crafting pins of motivational and inspirational quotes.  So I have had some time to reflect on a few of my favorites.

What follows are just 5 of my favorite motivational quotes, a few of which I was raised with from childhood.  They helped to shape and form me at an early age, and I hope you find some value in them as well.

1. Change your thoughts and you change your world.

This thought from Norman Vincent Peale is a powerful one for me.  Dr. Peale was one of the original leaders in the “Power of Positive Thinking” movement (he literally wrote the book on it!)  And Dr. Peale knew very well how our thoughts shape our outer reality.

This quote serves as a reminder to be careful what kind of thoughts you allow to motivate you in life.  What you focus on and think about the most, you empower in your life.  Be careful who you give that power to.

2. Attitude is important.  So choose a good one.

Wayne Dyer was another great teacher in the world of non-sectarian spirituality and positive thinking.  And this quote goes right along with the first by Dr. Peale.

Our inner attitude, right along with our thoughts, play a powerful role in shaping our lives.  If we focus on toxic energy and cultivate a negative attitude within ourselves, we will tend to drive people and opportunities in life away.  But if we cultivate a positive attitude seeking to build our world out of the positive energy of love, we will tend to attract good people and positive experiences into our lives.  Not saying life is going to be perfect 24/7 if we do; but it will be better.

Build your life using (wisely) the power of positive thoughts and a positive attitude and see if things begin to turn around for you.

3. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

This is another goodie from Dr. Wayne Dyer.  It focuses on the power of perception.

If you think that you are screwed and that nothing you can do will ever have an impact in your life, how likely will you be to succeed in anything?  Not very likely.

But, if you think that there is hope even in the most desperate of circumstances, you will find the energy and strength to overcome the obstacles that face you and to succeed in spite of them.  Perception is important.

You can also think of it this way; if you see the people around you as idiots and enemies, they will tend to act as such.  But, if you treat the people around you as having some good and value in them, you will tend to treat them accordingly, and they will be more likely to treat you in the same way.  There will always be some exceptions, but the basic rule still holds.

Do you see yourself living in a dark and hopeless world?  Or do you see yourself living in a good world waiting for you to help make it a better place?  Your perceptions in life will change how you see the outer reality and what you make of it.

4. If you don’t like your life, change it.  You’re not a tree!

This quote from Jim Rohn is one I have grown with over time.  There have been many instances in which I felt like I was trapped by circumstances beyond my control.  And I acted accordingly.  But, when I seriously considered the above quote by Jim Rohn, I began to see where I had certain options in life and began to empower myself by making use of those options.

Some people act very much as trees.  They are stuck in one place being battered about by the winds of fate.  But, when you open you eyes more fully and see the options that are open to you, you see where you can make change and begin moving forward.

5. Either you run the day, or the day runs you.

This is my final quote and it also comes from businessman and entrepreneur Jim Rohn.

This quote focuses more on the practical side of planning and organizing your life.  Many just drift through life with no goals and no plans to achieve them.  They are run by the things that happen to them.  Others have a good understanding of who they are, what they want out of life, and how to get it.  These are the ones who run their days, rather than allowing circumstances to dictate their lives to them.

This quote serves as a reminder to live your life intentionally.  Know Thyself (another great quote from a very old source) and choose wisely the goals you wish to achieve.  Then sit down, make a daily plan of action and go for it.  Run your own life.  Don’t let life run you.

Well that’s all for now.  Hope you found value in some of these musings.

Until later, take care and find the power in your life you were born with!
